Finished Calendar

So, I finished my classroom calendar a few days ago, but I haven’t gotten around to taking pics and blogging until today.  I only went to May, because school is over at the end of May.  I’m also currently working on a calendar for a friend and fellow teacher.  It is coming along really well, but you can’t see it until I’m all done.  :o)  So here goes.

I’ve also been designing some new mug rugs for my Etsy store (which I’m hoping to get made over the next few days) and of course, the quilt that I last posted on.  I’ll have some pics of that, hopefully, tomorrow.  Until then, happy crafting.  E

Hidden Stars Quilt

I have finally finished this quilt.  It took forever (at least it feels like it took forever).  All that I have left to do is sew on the binding.  I tried my fist ever attempt at machine quilting, and I’m pretty pleased with the results.  It was a little difficult to quilt with my little Singer, but that machine is a trooper!  I just stitched in the ditch, and I really like the results.

I pieced the back using navy blue (it looks lighter in the pics, but it really is more navy) and some Robert Kaufman Navy fabric.  This quilt is for my father-in-law, who is retired Navy, so I had to get the navy in there.  I also chose the star pattern because of the Navy.  Now onto the binding.
