Flower Box Cross-Stitch Finish

20120611-211326.jpg

I finished this project today. I started it several months ago and only had a bit left to finish. I got but done today while I watched the Euro Cup games between France and England and also Ukraine and Sweden. I’m glad it’s finished. It is really lovely. I might be listing this one in my Etsy shop. Stayed tuned for more info.

On another note, the smoky air here from the High Park fire north of Denver is wreaking havoc on my breathing and eyes. I feel really worn out and yet u didn’t do much at all today. Here’s hoping my hacking cough will go away soon.

Hugs to all!

Monday, Monday

Happy Monday everyone.  Well, I made quite a bit more progress on my fairy this weekend.  Mostly on Saturday as I waited outside during my garage sale.  It wasn’t a great turnout, but I guess people are still really cutting back.  There were also three other garage sales on my street, and most people were on the hunt for very specific items.  I made about $80, which is better than nothing, but we didn’t sell the couch and therefore had to move it back into the house.  Actually the move back in was easier than the move out.  So, Tita, the couch is yours!  I did get some compliments on my signs.

I used my cricut to cut out all the letters and numbers and then glued them onto old cardboard poster backs.  I was pretty pleased with them.  They didn’t take long at all and were easy to read from the street.  Tomorrow I leave for Florida to visit my best friend.  I am very excited and can’t wait to relax on the beach.  Luckily they live on Florida’s east coast so no oil yet.  We are going to go to the new Harry Potter world at Universal Studios!!  Woo Hoo.  I am super excited about that.  In preparation for my trip, I got a pedicure, thanks to my mother in law who gave me a gift certificate she wouldn’t use.  The nail tech had this new way to do nails called Rock Star and it is basically a gel base and then glitter sprinkled on top and then more gel (this is done a couple of times).  Then she buffed them smooth and put a clear coat on to make them extra shiny and voila!  I have GLITTERED!!! toenails.  Awesome.  This picture doesn’t do them justice.  You should see them in the sunlight!

Well, there is much to be done today: laundry, packing, cleaning, etc.  So I’ll leave you with some more pictures of the flowers in my front garden.  Hope you all have a wonderful week.  Hugs,  Erica
