Handmade Holidays

Well, as you can imagine from my lack of posts lately, things around here have been crazy!  So, instead of just leaving my blog blank, I have decided to feature some of my favorite shops on Etsy.  I love the handmade goodness on these sites.  Today, I’m featuring Inspired Memories by M on Etsy.  Inspired Memories offers up beautiful, one-of-a-kind scrapbooks/memory books for those who want to save their photo memories in style.  Another great element of Inspired Memories by M is that you can custom order a book to fit your specific needs if you don’t find what you need on the site.

I have personally purchased a book from Inspired Memories by M to showcase the pictures of my now grown up Quality Control Manager Merlin. I LOVE IT!!  Here are some of the gorgeous, inspired books that are listed now.  Make sure to check out the site for more books and pictures, and remember to shop small this season…small businesses that is!

Looking for a gift for a friend or family member with a new baby girl?  Look no further.  How fabulous is this?  I love the handmade paper on the cover and the sparkly embellishments, and seriously, could you find any cuter paper than the pink birds?  Ah-dor-ah-ble!

Here’s a peek at another scrapbook.  This one is for anyone with a young one in elementary school.  It’s a perfect gift for parents or even grandparents who want to chronicle their little one’s year in school.  I absolutely love the robot and the super cute multicolored apple paper.

Finished Calendar

So, I finished my classroom calendar a few days ago, but I haven’t gotten around to taking pics and blogging until today.  I only went to May, because school is over at the end of May.  I’m also currently working on a calendar for a friend and fellow teacher.  It is coming along really well, but you can’t see it until I’m all done.  :o)  So here goes.

I’ve also been designing some new mug rugs for my Etsy store (which I’m hoping to get made over the next few days) and of course, the quilt that I last posted on.  I’ll have some pics of that, hopefully, tomorrow.  Until then, happy crafting.  E

A Few More Mug Rugs and Lilly of the Woods Fairy Progress

I made a few more mug rugs, finally.  I don’t know where the time goes sometimes.  The summer is quickly slipping away.  I have been spending quite a bit of time working on my curriculum planning for my classroom.  I did, however, work in some time to get some more mug rugs completed.  I really like how these turned out . The first one has an antique lace doily to set your mug on.  It is super girly and so adorable.  If you are a fan of purple and polka dots and vintage, this is the mug rug for you.

I also made this one, using one of my “Fandango” by Kate Spain charm squares.  I love the colors of this one.  It is so bright and cheery.  I used a log cabin design on the left (an old quilt block pattern).  There are no fancy embellishments on this one, but I did use a thick, zig-zag stitch around the edge for some more texture.

Both of these are available to purchase from my Etsy store, if you are interested.

I’ve also been working on my Lilly of the Woods Fairy cross-stitch.  It is coming along, just taking forever.  I also realized that I’m missing some of the threads (mostly Kreinik metallics) that I need.  Here is my progress from my last post on this project.  Today I’m going to work on making a wall calendar for my classroom.  I’ll take pictures to share later.  Happy Crafting!
