Catching Up On March

Well I’m getting there. Here is my finished March block for the Sugar Block Club. I like it. I was waiting for a block to showcase that bear print! I think it will blend well with my other blocks. Apparently there is a storm on its way here. We’ll see what becomes of it. I’m not holding my breath for a snow day, but it sure would be nice!
One more block to get caught up. That one is paper piecing, which I have grown to love but seem to take a bit longer to put together. Ill keep you posted.

Happy Crafting!

Sugar Block Club February Block and A New Finish

20130202-213921.jpg

Today was my Sugar Block Club monthly meet up at Fancy Tiger Crafts. It was a lot of fun. I prepped ahead of time and cut my pieces and templates and punched my paper pieces at home before I went. I almost finish the whole block in class but messed up on one of my last pieces. So I had to finish it up at home. It turned out great for my first attempt at paper piecing. I was torn over which fabrics to pick this month but I am really happy withy he orange chevron with the robins egg blue and white. They really complement one another. This block also looks really good with my January block. I can’t wait till next month!

I also finished up the apron I’ve been working on. It turned out really great! Lots of nice sized pockets to fit all of her goodies. See…

And, of course, since I was at my LQS for my class, I couldn’t help but pick up a few FQs in pretty valentiney fabrics (yes I did make up that word), and some more hexagon paper pieces. I have some ideas for these items and some flour sack towels I’ve had sitting around…

I have big crafting plans tomorrow since neither the Broncos nor the Patriots made it to the Super Bowl. So hopefully I’ll have more goodies to post tomorrow! Happy Crafting.

“Snow Blossom” January Block

20130105-195702.jpg

I’ve done it! I finished my first block of the Sugar Block Club. I love it and I had a great time making it with the club creator, Amy, at Fancy Tiger Crafts this afternoon. I decided to go with my bloggers choice fat quarter bundle from Elizabeth Hartman of Oh Fransson blog fame. The bundle is from The Fat Quarter Shop and I just love all of the colors. I did add two of my own solids, the dark gray and the ashy white.

I struggled with choosing which fabrics to use on this block, but I am super happy with how it turned out. Can’t wait until next months block and class. I hope you all are having a great weekend, and for all you Downton Abbey fans out there…one more day!!!!!
