More Months Completed

I worked more on my classroom calendar today.  I had a lot of fun with all my stickers, sparkles, and rub-ons.  Here are the next four months. I think December is my favorite.  I just love those gold, glittery, flag letters!!  Here’s hoping you have some time this week to get your craft on!

Lovelies Coming Soon

After all of the hoopla of Quilt Market (which I wish I could have gone to just to ogle all of the lovely fabrics and projects), there are some fabulous new fabric lines coming out in the near future.  This one (above) is gorgeous.  I love the color palette, and Basic Grey is one of my all time favorite companies.  Another lovely that is already out now…Prince Charming by another of my favorites Tula Pink.  This is just one of the color ways.  I want them all!!

Another of my favorite designers is Kate Spain.  I have several of her fabric collections, including her last release – Central Park.  I am super excited about this new line…Terrain.  The colors are wonderfully saturated.

Sophie by Chez Moi is so cute.  Perfect for a bright lap quilt or a twin bed quilt for a girl’s room.

Right now I’ve been busy working on a secret quilt.  I’m using the “Glory” fabric line from Kathy Schmitz.  The quilt is a log cabin design but with a twist.  I have had my issues with it, cutting the wrong lengths of 30 strips, sewing the wrong strips on numerous blocks and then having to take them apart.  It has been taking me a while because I’ve gotten so frustrated, but I have all but 4 blocks finished (out of 16).  I expect to finish the remaining 4 tomorrow and then sew them all together.  I hope that it turns out.

If you haven’t been by my Etsy shop, The Notions Basket, lately, I have every item on sale and I’m donating $10 from every sale to the Red Cross for disaster relief efforts.  I’m low on inventory right now, but expect to have a few more items in the next week or so.

On another note, 3 more days until my 8th graders are officially not 8th graders anymore.  Then I get to start planning for next fall, oh wait, I already started that!  Until next time…lots of hugs – E

Fairy cross-stitch and craft room

Wow, it’s been a while.  I don’t know what happened to the month of January, but apparently it is gone.  I thought I would share my progress on this cross-stitch with you.  It has taken me a while on the wings because it is Kreinik metallic thread, and that thread is such a pain to work with.  The results, however, are worth it in the end.  I love the way it sparkles and looks so delicate.

On another topic, I thought I would share some pics of my craft room.  Since, we are about to list the house for sale (yes, it has taken this long), my craft room is super clean and pretty.  I repainted the walls a lovely shade of “Crushed Peony” from the Behr paint and primer in one line.  I love it, it is so soft and lovely.   You can also see my sewing table which I’ve covered with an old blue and white striped sheet.  My cat, Dulcina, wanted to be in the picture, too.  On the right is my shelving system that I just love.  It holds and hides a lot of stuff.

On the right is my shelving system that I just love.  It holds and hides a lot of stuff.  In the cubbies are the cutest little jars of buttons that my mom and dad gave me for Christmas and also some neatly folded and tied pieces of the “martinique” jelly roll that were left over from making the tote last summer.  The drawers are full of fat quarters and other pieces of fabric.

Finally is my cutting table and some storage shelves.  The storage shelves hold more fabric, layer cakes, thread, batting, etc.  On my cutting table is that runner I started last month, that I need to finish.  You can also see the cute pink and green table runner that I finished last month.  Super cute.   Well, I hope you enjoyed your tour of my craft room.  Hugs to all, and warm, warm thoughts sent your way.  It is sooooo cold here.  Brrrrrrrr.
