A week ago, while at a super cute shop in Denver called Talulah Jones, I saw the most adorable spring/Easter display. There were pompom garlands, and mini carrots, and chicks. Lots of cute chicks. I was struck with inspiration, and since I now have a great mantle on my new fireplace, I decided that I would decorate it. I am so glad I did. I wasn’t quite sure how I wanted it to look, but I definitely wanted a springy, Eastery theme. So while at Hobby Lobby, I spotted these adorable mini Easter chicks. Just the perfect size to glue onto some mini clothespins! I also grabbed some pink, sparkly pompoms, some white mini pompom trim ribbon, and an adorable rabbit figurine. I picked up the mini carrots at the cute shop.
Today after getting home from a weekend away, I went to work on my Easter decorating. I am not done yet but here is what I did get finished. I made the chick pins. First I got out my trusty glue gun and separate all of the chicks and clothespins. Then I started gluing.
Some of the chicks were a bit twisted, so I just turned them to face front. Nice and orderly.
All lined up and ready for garland duty!
Close up. Eeek! I can’t get over how cute they are!
After gluing my chicks on, I grabbed my pompom ribbon and glued my pink, sparkly pompoms on it too!
Then I hung the pompom trim up with the lovely robins egg blue ribbon I got at that same great store. I also got some super cute fabric carrots from the same shop. The designer of the mini carrots and the fabric carrots is Bethany Lowe Designs. Such cute stuff. I can’t wait to go back for Halloween decorations!
Here is the mantle so far. I’m not done yet. I have plans for a “SPRING” banner of some sort, so stay tuned. I also plan on modge podging those candle with glitter! Have you started your spring/Easter decorations yet?
Super cute! Love all the little chicks, with all their Eastery colors. Your squirrel and the rabbits look great on there also. Did you paint the insert on the fireplace? Looks so nice and love the color! Makes me want to put mine out, if I could only find them!!
P. S. love the bright red fingernails!
