Today I sold my first item from my Etsy shop, TheNotionsBasket. I made this cross-stitch quite a while ago, but I felt she was missing something. So, I decided to combine my love of cross-stitching and quilting and make a wall hanging. I love the way that it turned out. I used an ivory fabric with a pearlized polka dot for the border. Then I used an ivory fabric with a light yellow flower pattern for the binding. The backing is Kona white. It came out lovely, and I am very excited about the possibilities of the combination of crafts. I may have to try this with some of my other finished cross-stitch pieces. It is so much lovlier than a frame, and less expensive too.
On another front, I am coming right along with my Aida fairy. I am onto the final beading, which is actually a lot of beading. Here is an update on my progress. This is the full picture. All of the cross-stiching is done. All that I have left to finish is the beading and backstitching.
Hooray–glad that you sold one of your items on your Etsy site. Whoever gets it, will really like it. The pixie is so cute, and I really like the way you quilted around it. Really nice. Your are coming right along on your fairy too. She is going to be another beauty.
Happy Crafting
